From the desk of Sister Carol Melsopp, PBVM:

Brrrr!!  Can you believe this cold weather?  Here are a few tips:

·        Dress your children very carefully

·        Gym sweat sets are currently permitted, while this cold weather continues, even on non-gym days

·        Our school nurse assures me that our youngsters are in good health, since there have been practically no absences during these frigid days

·        Keep the vitamins coming to help prevent illnesses!

Reminders

·        Be cautious of where you stop while dropping your children off in the morning – also, look carefully before your child gets out of the car

Sign Sponsor needed:

·        A generous sponsor has offered to pay for a new sign on Route 46 Westbound.

·        We really could use a new sign at our Baldwin Road entrance as well

·        Would you sponsor this sign?

·        Or contribute towards this purchase?

·        If so, please contact Fran Tuite, Educational Council President

·        Just call the school (973) 334-4704

·        Or simply mail your contribution to the school, Attn: Fran

·        It wouldn’t take many small contributions to cover the cost!

·        Thanks to everyone for all their generosity

Cost/Benefits, a parent's perspective:

I find myself weighing the costs and benefits of virtually everything I do in life.  One exception is the education my kids are getting at Saint Peter the Apostle School.  I learned a long time ago that the costs, while certainly a sacrifice, are affordable.  And the benefits are immeasurable.  How do you assign a value to the feelings of community, of family, of safety, and of love that are ever-present in the halls of Saint Peter's and beyond?  And what price could you put on the ability to freely pray to God during school?   I don't bother with the cost/benefits analysis anymore, there is no need....Dave G.
